Unlikely Bedfellows?

Fuzzy Couch Potatoes

Dallas and Neo commandeered the couch on a rainy Friday.

It started raining yesterday morning sometime before 3 A.M. and continued until well past midnight last night. The rain fell moderate and steady all day long and we're having very light snow flurries this morning.

The moisture is very welcome indeed and we got something over 2 inches in a 24 hour period.

Whoa!

I just noticed it's December!!!

A Sweet Lazy Sunday...

His Laziness, 'Neo The Freckle-Nosed Cat' dozes on the couch in his typical fashion, and, to be perfectly honest, this is what Peggy & I are doing today too.

Intermittent snow flurries are causing the scenery out the windows to be almost winter-like as we sit by the warm cozy fire reading, and relaxing on this very pleasant day.

But please don't believe for a moment that I've grown too fat, complacent or lazy, like Neo up there, because I'm mostly reading about peak oil, the coming Iranian Oil Bourse, which goes into effect on March 20th (the Iranian New Year), and all that might entail on the world stage, including possibly, the eventual collapse of the dollar.

So I've been boning up on Petro-Dollar Warfare and the likely military strikes to be waged against Iran by the U.S., or more likely, by Israel, and the inevitable retaliatory strikes throughout the Middle East which could effectively halt the flow of oil to world markets.

These real possibilities for our very near future make this warm moment in time & place something to especially cherish.

Wherever you are today friends, I hope you're appreciating and enjoying the lives and comforts you share with your loved ones, because our world may be unrecognizable tomorrow, the next day, or the day after...

I think I feel a rant coming on.

The Basket Case...

Today is house cleaning day, we moved all the furniture, took the rugs outside for a beating, mopped the floor, brought everything back in, and then sat down for lunch, a beer and a break. During our break I was sitting on the floor adding some wood to the stove when Peggy came over and sat, kind of Yoga style in my lap to snuggle for a minute, when shortly she started chuckling, and pointed to Neo staring at us from behind me, cozily perched in one of our pine-needle bowls while Steely Dan played softly from the iPod. Funny how our pets pick up our vibes and want in on the action, often stealing the show.

Thanks Neo!

I was comfy there by the fire with Peg before she made me get up and grab the camera so I could take a picture of you...

This post reminds me that I'm supposed to be continuing our basketry project and sharing some techniques.

O.K., O.K., I'll get back to that real soon.

But right now I have to get back to work, Peggy is cracking the whip today, and so far I've been a good boy, but you know what they say, "you're only as good as your last deed", or something like that?

Neo the freckle nosed mouser relaxes on the couch next to Peggy this evening.
This is a weekend cat blog inspired by Farmgirl.
Can you make out the three tiny black dots (freckles) on the tip of his nose in the enlarged photo? Posted by Picasa
