What is to know?
but this very moment in life
like a mere molecule of water
soon joined to the river of time
by surrendering to it
I drown willingly
in undercurrents of mystery
myself abandoned to wonder
through an instant of recognition
from somewhere else
I swirl blindly through the cosmos
re-joined, absentmindedly
with galactic eddys of light
which will forever reflect
upon eternal living water
so I'm brought home,
momentarily
to that primordial other
of which all...
are part

Thank you for posting this. I was just thinking again today how much I miss him. XO
Breathtaking
yeah, I think of him amazingly often myself.
I felt drawn to check Jim's blog today - hoping for something...I knew not what. And amazingly there is his beautiful haunting poem! I'm so grateful.
thanks for this nice post...
I only just discovered that Jim was gone. I was searching for this blog after forgetting the name of it. I had read it regularly for a very long time. I finally remembered the name, found the blog, and sadly saw this fine poem. I was searching for this blog for consolation after a similar loss. My former husband, a creative and gentle man much like Jim, who lived on a rural farm and was a retired mailman after 30+ years, passed suddenly on July 16, 2012_just turned 64. I met him on a hippie commune in 1971. How strange to come here and see Jim not only had a similar life, but similar death. Goodbye, Jim. You reached many of us with your honesty, authenticity, compassion, humor, as well as someone who manifested living the good life and taught us much. You were/are a mentor, guide and inspiration. I will read over your prior posts and be sustained, as your presence still reverberates through your words and images. RIP sweet Jim and Bruce.
it's graet poem.. :-)
I, too, was drawn here, perhaps hoping--no wishing--that his passing was a dream and that I would find him still here. Alas, not so. But so glad to see something, a little part of him, still connecting him to us. I miss you Jim. And Peggy--I hope you are doing well.
I remember Jim and Peg often and with love.
I had to come by again to check in, hoping there would be a post or something. Then, found this offering, such an amazing, insightful, profound, and moving poem. Thinking of you and your family, Peggy.
