Sunrise ~ Elwood, Utah ~ December 11, 2010
Click on photo to enlarge © 2010 jim otterstromClouds pour off the Wasatch Front while the sun peaks over the mountains this morning as Dallas and I took our walk. The view is to the southeast and my mother's house is in the far lower left of the photo, just beneath the sun flare. You can see smoke rising from our neighbor's chimney on the horizon to the right of the sun flare, the temperature was about 32 degrees.

Looks like a Grand Canyon Suite mood to me.
Beautiful!!! I can't wait to come up and join you on your morning walks.

You have me listening to Kostelanetz this morning, Grofés 'Sunrise', a bit early here for that yet though, it's still pitch black. According to the weather forecast 'Cloudburst' would likely be more appropriate for today anyway, but I'm still hoping I can get out 'On The Trail' before the showers start.
I love the interaction between the Sky and the Wasatch Mountains here in northern Utah, dramatic breathtaking views are the norm.

Hi Jamie,
I'm really looking forward to your arrival too, and I rarely miss a morning walk you know...
See you soon!
Love,
Daddy-O
What an interesting shot, Jim, and of course, I love the one of you and Peggy around your birthday. :) It's nice to read about Dallas too.
A fellow blogger, Steve at Recycled Photons, and I are launching a little group to "share" random events through the year--such as the upcoming lunar eclipse. I thought of you. If you have any interest, we'd love for you to "join" us. :)
Sending you all warm holiday thoughts.
That's a magnificent photograph in a setting well suited to two such great souls.
I hope you enjoy a wonderful Christmas with your mother and any who visit.
