a place to be
We are a car-free retired couple living in a small 950 sq ft mountain cabin on less than 1/4 acre at 6,750 ft elevation. The native plant habitat we established on the property now exceeds 100 species and we grow organic vegetables on a small portion of the yard. In our continuing efforts toward simple, sustainable and rewarding lives we bid our last car "Good Riddance" in January of 1997. Earth Home Garden represents what we love in life; our bountiful planet EARTH and all her natural diversity; our cozy little cabin HOME and the family it has sheltered for 29 years; and the GARDEN around us which nurtures so many native creatures and helps feed us as well. It's our PLACE TO BE........... ***NOTICE*** Unless otherwise stated, all photos and text posted here are the copyrighted property of Jim Otterstrom, who hereby grants permission to re-print or re-publish his work, freely, for non-commercial purposes, so long as it is un-altered and credit is given. Ok, inquiring minds want to know...was the camera on timer setting and autofocus?
Tabor
Hi Tabor-
I was wondering if anyone was going to be curious about this shot.
Yes, the camera was on a 10 second timer in the auto mode and I just set it on the planks of the boardwalk.
And, you may have noticed that I use sun flare as an effect in many of my pictures.
But I did something here that I've not done before. The sun flare in this picture is a fake, added in Photoshop after the fact.
The sun was actually farther to the right, still behind the mountain, and the sky was just washed out in contrast to everything else, so I cheated and gave the shot another point of interest.
If you want to goof around with such silliness you can create sun flares and other lighting effects under the 'render' option of the filter section of Photoshop.
All the other pictures I've posted with sun flare were as they came from the camera.
Fun. I have Photoshop at work and PaintShop pro at home. The learning curve for Photoshop is so steep for me. I do, like, only two posters a year in the software...everything else I work on has nothing to do with photos and art!! (You guys are cute and so much in love that I visit your site...but with a little envy.)
JIm,
there is wet stuff falling out of the sky, do you know what it is? I seem to have forgotten.
I like that picture. the sunflares look natural so well done with the photoshop.
good luck with the rock garden, I am a member of here http://www.srgc.org.uk/
