The First Dawn Of Winter
This fleeting moment was captured at 6:52 this morning along Highway 18 between Big Bear and Lucerne Valley.
A couple of minutes later the sun disappeared behind the clouds leaving us with this golden memory to warm a gray and drizzly day.
A perfect beginning for winter.

Wow......
You are so Magical.....
You have such a gift for 'Being in the Moment' and catching it on the camera.
I guess that's why I like hanging with you so much...I get to see a lot of your vision.
Love you....your P.S.
lovely
I adore winter sunrises
( when I get my self out to see them)
Beautiful....one of the reasons i carry my camera with me everywhere..you never know when the magic moment will strike
My dearest Peggy Sue-
I love to get comments from you at the blog when you're not home.
Sometimes I'm not sure if what you call my "gift" is vision or fantasy, but it's what I see, what I think about, what motivates me, and I'm so lucky to have you to share it with.
David-
I was lucky enough to be out there at that moment because I was driving my disabled neighbor down to Victorville for her monthly doctor's appointment.
Catherder-
Yes, it seems like every time I go somewhere without the camera I end up wishing I had it with me.
Lovely. It almost looks like a fire over the mountain.
Happy holidays to you and Peggy and family! And thanks for the "tragic news" email; I have not laughed that hard in a long time! Calvin is going to print it and put it up in his room. :)
some things are just so beautiful they make your heart ache a little. many or the things on your blog are in that realm. thanks for all you share. wishing you both many beauteous sunrises in 2009.
I'm enjoying the images on your site. You seem to have the "photographic eye" for which I envy you. It seems the place where you live has a lot of beauty to them that can see it. And you clearly can.
