Symbiosis

Things are beginning to happen in the native plant habitat so I've taken a few pictures today showing some early spring progress.
In the foreground you see Indian Paintbrush in front of it's symbiotic partner buckwheat.
Paintbrush doesn't seem too particular about which buckwheat it parasitizes, and the one in this photo is Wright's Buckwheat.
