Paradise Lives...

...all around us
The closer we look...
...the more we see

A vivid Beaver-Tail Cactus-Flower (Opuntia basilaris) caught my fancy today, in the soft-filtered afternoon light, revealing ever more sensual beauty as I moved in closer with my camera to discover that I wasn't the only one intoxicated by the attractive powers of this stunning display.

That's a beautiful flower and a lovely surprise at its center. Great colors!

Absolutely gorgeous! I love how you see things with an eye for detail... even the small surprises that come your way.

It makes my day every time you have a new post. :)

I love your work. And, a born and bred city person I admire the way you and your wife live and appreciate the artistry you both create.

The sensuality of nature in these photos is beautiful. What I really enjoyed in the top picture is buddha (catti) with the lotus and the waters of life (driftwood)
I just love it.
Thank you.

We have a similar plant out our way called prickly pear, but the flowers are yellow.
